Founded in 1970, Van Luyk Greenhouses and Garden Centre has grown into one of the region’s most trusted gardening destinations. With over 50,000 square feet of greenhouse and retail space, we are proud to offer high-quality plants, expert service, and meaningful job opportunities that support local youth and contribute to a stronger community.

Leadership & Team

Van Luyk’s is led by Dr. Suba Sivakumar (PhD in Plant Pathology), who brings more than twenty years of experience in plant science, research, teaching and community engagement. Our knowledgeable operations and growing teams specialize in horticulture, greenhouse management, and supply logistics—ensuring healthy plants and smooth service all year long.

What We Offer

We’re open year-round with an extensive selection of:
  • Houseplants, annuals, vegetables, herbs, trees, and shrubs
  • Bedding plants, planters, and hanging baskets
  • Soil, mulch, fertilizers, pest control products, pots, and garden décor
Seasonal favourites include:
  • Valentine’s floral arrangements and Easter décor
  • Fall mums, hay bales, and pumpkins

Our Commitment

We grow 80% of our plants on-site using sustainable methods such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM). We prioritize local sourcing and are committed to providing every customer with a warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable experience.

As a community-focused business, we proudly partner with local schools to provide horticultural training. We also partner with nonprofit organizations such as ATN Employment Services and Leads Employment Services to offer horticultural training and employment opportunities for individuals—particularly those with disabilities or employment barriers—by helping them build job skills and access meaningful work in inclusive environments.
